Extant Relatives is partnering with Backyard Abundance to explore who you can meet in Iowa's freshwater ponds. Join us for a short discussion of which herps you might find, learn about how to help reptiles and amphibians in Iowa, and discover one of our favorite ponds in Iowa City. Meet at Thornberry Dog Park for a short, paved walk to the pond. This event is free, open to the public, and friendly for all ages and interest levels. Register through Backyard Abundance or just *hop on over* to meet us if you forget! (See what we did there?)

We will be representing ourselves and Backyard Abundance at Field to Family's Earth Week Fair. Field to Family kicks off their online market with a celebration of our environment. Meet local environmental organizations and learn about how you can become involved in sustainability efforts.

Plant trees as a part of the Iowa City Community's "Promise to the Planet". Learn more on the Miyawaki Forest Tree Planting website. This event is a collaboration between the University of Iowa Office of Sustainability and the Environment, the LENA Project, the University of Iowa Facilities Management, and the University of Iowa Undergraduate Student Government. Extant Relatives will be on hand 1:00-3:00pm on Friday and Sunday to discuss how the forest will benefit native reptiles and amphibians... and of course, a few of our reptile friends will be joining us!
