Lampropeltis triangulum syspila

Red

L triangulum is better known to locals as the milk snake. These medium-sized snakes can be found in the central and southernUnited States. Milk snakes are commonly encountered in agricultural areas, where they prowl barns for heat and mice. Early farmers believed that these snakes stole milk from cows at night, earning them the name "milk snake". Red was purchased from A-aron's Snakes in 2025.

Red will show you why milk snakes are popular pets. She is a bit spooked right out of the gate, and may even "rattle" her tail. She settles quickly and will slowly move around your hands, exploring smells and looking for dark spaces to hang out.
